Petr Čejka:
I saw the Black Sabbath show yesterday and
I'm really surprised at how great they are now! But I'll start with support bands!
Soulfly set started at 7:15pm and their show was awful for me.
They're not my cup of tea and I really didn't like them. These 35 minutes was really long for me and I was very bored.
The reactions from the rest of the audience was cold too. They finished their set
at 7:50pm.
Velvet Revolver started at 8:35 and played for 50 minutes. I liked the past members of Guns
'n' Roses, but the lead singer was really bad! I don't know why, but his performance on stage for me looked like
a pose and he absolutely had no charisma! But Slash was excellent!
They ended their set at 9:25.
And then at 9:45.... the beginning of Sabbath's show!!! They started with taped intro of medley of greatest Sabbath riffs
("Heaven and Hell" included) and the audience went crazy!!!
They started with "N.I.B." and it was clear - they are damn good!
Ozzy Osbourne had a little problem with intonation during the first song, but after that it was all OK!
He is really great front man and Tony's guitar still has the same sound as in
did in the 70's. Bill Ward was biggest surprise for me - his drumming was absolutely superb!
No faults, and he enjoyed the show (they all enjoyed it). The best part of show was whole part between
"War Pigs" and "The Wizard"! I really loved their concert and I think that Tony
(and especially Ozzy) were stunned by reactions from crowd! The atmosphere was stunning - almost all people on floor had hands up in the air and it was really nice when Ozzy
gave us some verses from "Iron Man" and all 12000 people sung
them! Their show ended at 11:15 with almost 90 minutes of live music!
If you have a chance to see them, don't miss them! They are really in top shape!
